Work permits and exemptions for foreign staff and company shareholders.

Paid work by a foreign national in Turkey generally depends on a work permit. Being a shareholder or a manager does not create that permit. If the person will actually work, the permit is planned with the formation file.

Permit and exemption

A work permit is authority assessed for a specific employer and workplace. An exemption covers narrow cases listed in law and does not always replace a permit. The application screen and forms change from time to time, so the list is checked on the filing date.
